VAMNICOM offers a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Agri Business Management (PGDM-ABM) programme since 1993. The centre seeks to mould its young students who come from different academic backgrounds and with diverse skills into competent professionals of tomorrow. The students learn to combine the use of technical skills with the understanding of the socio-cultural system to emerge as leaders in their fields and make significant contribution through management in all sectors of the society.
Considering the ever growing requirement for professional managers in the fields of Agriculture, Banking and Insurance, the PGDM-ABM programme has been thoroughly restructured with specialization in Agri-Business Management (ABM). Students evolve through a structured process that enables them to :
1) Develop required conceptual base in the different subject areas of relevance.
2) Acquire the relevant skills in using modern management tools and techniques.
3) Develop application skills of appropriate management techniques in the context of Agri-Business / Banking & Insurance.
The PGDM has been recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India and recognized by Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to M.B.A. degree and NBA accreditated programme.
The programme comprises two segments – classroom and Summer Internship. Of these, the first involves an exposure to concepts, skills and knowledge in the classroom, while the second involves first-hand experience of understanding organizations. Evaluation of students performance in the programme is a continuous process, affording opportunity for frequent and regular corrections.
